Delores Koumandakis, age 43, passed away on May 1, 2020 in Murray, Utah. She was born on September 23, 1976 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mary and Frank Koumandakis.
Delores had a passion for baking amazing treats. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Delores also loved art in all its forms.
Delores is survived by her daughter Hanaa Alhamdani, her husband Karim Alhamandi, her mother Mary Koumandakis, sister Sandra (Kosta) Andonakis, brother John (Geness) Koumandakis and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Frank Koumandakis.
An evening viewing will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church 5335 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117 with a viewing prior from 12:00 – 1:45 PM. Interment to follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery. The viewings at the mortuary and the church are open to the public, but the funeral services at the church are limited to 20 people.
Due to the landscape of COVID-19, all gatherings per federal guideline are limited to no more than 20 people at a time. The viewings will have staggered times when attendees may enter the building. I am sad to hear about Delores passing . The last time she came into ABC&E , I got the chance to sit & chat with her. She updated me on you & your family, she let me know about how her life was going and she talked about your Dad.
She made me smile that day. She was a good little sis and I will never forget her.
