DeAnn Caplinger Webb has moved on to her new adventure. She fought a hard battle with breast cancer. She died at the young age of 76. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in November of 2015, the doctors gave her a timeline of up to 2 years left to live. She did not accept that timeline, and the war began. She was beating it, until Spring of 2021. She started with a cough and hoarse throat. A trip to the Doctor revealed she had a large tumor on her left lung, it had pushed against some nerves that controlled the voicebox and esophagus, which affected her swallowing. She was then given a timeline of a few months. She again did not accept that timeline. She has had a tough battle for over 6 an a half years, but she did it her way. Her mind was still sharp but her body was tired. She was born on 8/8/46 in Boise, Idaho to Warren Augustus Caplinger and Dorothy Helen Miller. She was the first born of 4 children, she had 1 brother Fred and 2 sisters Kenna and Barbara. The young family moved to Kearns, Utah. She worked at a book bindery where she met the love of her life Tom Webb, he asked her out on a date in August and they married 3 months later 11/27/65. For their first Thanksgiving together they invited their parents to join them for dinner, however her 1st born daughter changed those plans. Becky DeAnn was born 11/24/66. Her 1st born son Thomas Glen was born 8/16/68 and 12 days shy of a year, her 2nd son Charles Warren was born 8/4/69. She was very artistic and crafty. She loved to paint working with all kind of mediums, create all kinds of adorable stuffed dolls and animals, she loved to make quilts. Ceramics was a love of hers, she had a ceramic shop in Draper during the 70's and her kids were the hired hands after school. She also had a love for horses and loved to ride whenever she could. She was thrown by a horse and broke her back when her children were young. Most of our clothes growing up was hand sewn, and all our meals were homemade from scratch. She and dad came from a generation where simply going to the store was not a normal action. Mom was very dedicated to be self sufficient. Our family grew up in a farm in Draper, Utah, we raised cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, geese, rabbits and goats. We grew our own fruits and vegetables. They bottled and preserved all kinds of fruits, veggies and meats, this is a practice they continued to do up until a few months before her death. She loved her gardens and if you look hard enough you could find numerous fairies hidden in and among the flowers and plants. She had a love for science fiction stories and anything with magic and fantasy themes. She loved fishing and hunting and being outdoors. She was a jack of all trades, master of none. She always had a new project to learn about and tackle. She was a wife of one, mother of three, grandmother of nine and a great grandmother of seven. She loved everyone she met. 7 of the 9 grandchildren lived with her at some point in their life, she welcomed and help support them in whatever they needed.

Sincere condolences for the loss of DeeAnn. I have many fond memories of times spent on the Draper farm when I was a kid. I got my ears pierced at her kitchen table! Sending love to the Webb family.
