David Leslie Peck

Nov 23, 1937 Jul 20, 2021

David Leslie Peck, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away at home on July 20, 2021, due to natural causes at the age of 83.

David was born November 23, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Edward Peck (Tom) and Mary Josephine Watters. He was the oldest of five children, along with sisters Nora and Sandra and brothers Tom and Smokey.

David married Pamela Bennion on January 26, 1957. Together they raised four children, Deann, Jolene, David and Donald. They had 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. David took great care and was a comfort to his wife Pamela, until MS took her life in 2013.

David was blessed in later life to share it with Bernadette Hayes, who loved him dearly and was a devoted companion. David and Bernadette were married December 9, 2014. They were blessed to share their life together and created many cherished memories.

David worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family. He was an exceptional entrepreneur. David and Pamela owned a successful waste management company named Ideal Waste and Rubbish. David had a strong work ethic. David’s motto was “your word is your bond” which was instilled in his children and grandchildren. David also taught by example the value of a dollar and never wasted a cent.

David had a great love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He would always find a way to take time from his busy work schedule to take the family on many exciting outdoor adventures.

David loved to watch live sports and was a devoted Utah Jazz and Denver Bronco fan. He supported his grandchildren and attended many of their games. He also enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and Wendover. He was a master bass fisherman. You could often find him chasing salmon in Alaska or bass fishing at Lake Powell with his many friends. However, nothing meant more to him than the memories he created with family and friends. From now on there will always be an empty seat on everyone’s fishing boat.

David is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nora (her husband, Clyde), first wife Pamela, daughters Deann and Jolene. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Bernadette, sister Sandra Hayes-Rosco, brothers Tom (Lynda) Peck and Smokey (Beth) Peck, sons David (Debbie) Peck, Donald (Desi) Peck, grandchildren Ryan (Hillary) Peck, Kristen (Eric) Peck, Desiree Peck, Nick Peck, Mikayla Peck, Chaz Peck, Greg Anast, Valerie Anast, Whitney Finley, Max Trujillo, Lindsey Bryant, Eric (Allie) Johnson, Alison Smith and son-in-law Matt Smith.
