David Pearson

Sep 12, 1964 Jul 12, 2025

David Stewart Pearson, beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend, passed away on July 12, 2025. Born on September 14, 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah, David lived a life marked by intelligence, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

David was the eldest child of Stewart and Linda Pearson. He followed in his father's footsteps by attending Olympus High School, where he excelled academically—being admitted to Mensa. He was also a member of the football team. His pursuit of knowledge continued at the University of Utah, where he furthered his education with the same diligence and curiosity that defined much of his life. He spent a dedicated career working with the Federal Government.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, David served faithfully in the Madrid, Spain mission. His time there left a lasting impression on him and those he served; the Spanish people cherished his warmth and sincerity. Several years later, Dave traveled back with his family, to visit the areas he served in.

David’s talents were as diverse as they were impressive. A gifted musician, he played both piano and electric guitar with ease and could perform many memorized pieces throughout his life. He was also an avid chess player who enjoyed competitive matches with his grandfather. These games reflected both his strategic mind and love for family traditions.

His culinary skills were equally notable; David was a wonderful cook who delighted in preparing meals for others. He had a passion for vintage recipes and shared them through a blog that became beloved by many. Another blog he created focused on helping others manage Diabetes—a cause close to his heart—where he offered support and insight drawn from personal experience.

Dave’s hobbies reflected his wide-ranging interests: he was an avid collector of guns and took great joy in tracking down elusive pieces. He also found peace on the golf course and excitement in cheering for his favorite teams — the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Dodgers, and especially his beloved Utah Utes.

David was the best gift giver. He always found the most unique gifts that he thought would surprise his loved ones. His thoughtfulness was found in the details.

Those who knew David remember him as a kind and gentle man with an infectious sense of humor that brought joy to friends and family alike. He had a big heart and caring spirit that made him someone you could always count on if you needed anything. As the oldest sibling, David naturally took on the role of protector and guide, always looking after those around him with quiet strength and unwavering love.

David is survived by his mother, Linda Pearson; sister Christine Pearson; and brother Steven Pearson. He was preceded in death by his father, Stewart Pearson.

According to his wishes, a private service will be held with family and close friends to celebrate his life. The service will be followed by interment at Wasatch Lawn in Salt Lake City. David, we love you, and your presence is already greatly missed. We look forward to the time that we will meet with you again.
