David Mack Horne Jr., 67, passed away September 27, 2021, in Salt Lake City from heart failure.
Dave was a master commercial electrician. He specialized in heavy industrial equipment. The more complicated the job the better, he applied his head as well as his hands in many of his favorite jobs. Almost always, his customers were also his friends. One of his favorite jobs was installing the electrical equipment for the snowmaking machines at Alta ski resort.
He had a vast knowledge about multiple interests and hobbies. Including metallurgy, bee keeping, flying, sawmills, skiing, snowmobiling, Lake Powell, cooking, and practical jokes. He loved to read and learn about many different subjects, and kept studying until he understood them, and could recall information years later. He had an amazing memory.
Dave loved Lambs canyon, where his first learned to drive the “pink jeep”. Throughout his life he spent many enjoyable days at the peaceful surroundings of the family cabin.
Dave made lifelong friends wherever he went. He coined many unique and original nicknames. The family would like to thank all of his friends that treated him like family the last few years.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and brother Brian and is survived by three brothers and two sisters: Steven M. (Kathy) Horne, Jonathan N. (Patty) Horne, James M. (Karen) Horne, Suzanne J. Horne, and Catherine L. (Todd) Klein.
