Darrel “Brent” Gubler passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He lived a life marked by service, integrity, and an unwavering devotion to his family. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

Brent was born on May 25, 1954, the first child of Darrel and Carolyn (Bigler) Gubler. As the oldest of his siblings, and despite some large age gaps, he cherished each one of them. He grew up in Las Vegas, NV, where he was surrounded by neighbors and friends, enjoying what he often described as an idyllic childhood.

At the age of 12, Brent went on his first deer hunt, an experience that sparked a lifelong passion. For him, hunting was never just about the game; it was more about the people, and the memories created along the way. He especially treasured the time spent hunting with his sons and grandsons and the many stories that came from those adventures.

After graduating from high school in 1972, Brent moved to Washington, UT to attend Dixie College. He remembered those years fondly, living with his grandmother and aunt in their ancestral home. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Nancy Blake. On July 10,1975 Brent and Nancy were sealed in the Provo Utah Temple for time and all eternity.

The couple settled in Las Vegas, NV where they raised their five children, Casey, Curtis, Tyler, Ashlee and Valerie. Brent was remarkably intelligent and possessed an impressive collection of interesting—and sometimes useless—facts. He was the person who could fix anything and solve any problem. If something was broken, Brent could make it work again.

Brent was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in many callings. He was hardworking in all aspects of his life and accepted those around him as his chosen family. His loyalty was evident in his devotion to God, his family, friends and neighbors.

As a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes. His presence was steady, strong and loving. The strength he possessed was never flashy or attention-seeking. Instead, it was found in the quiet consistency of his character, his unwavering principles, and his willingness to always put others before himself. Those who knew him best felt the depth of his love through the countless ways he served, supported, and sacrificed for those around him.

In his final days, surrounded by the family he built and loved so dearly, Brent reminded us that what matters most in life is not what we accumulate or accomplish, but the love we share and the lives we touch. His legacy lives on through the example he set, the values he instilled, and the love that continues to unite his family.

Brent is survived by his beloved wife Nancy; his five Children, Casey (MJ), Curtis (Robyn), Tyler (Aleisha), Ashlee, and Valerie (Mitch) Hafen; 18 Grandchildren, and five Great-Grandchildren, with another great-granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, Gaye Borden, Mark (Dawna), Darin (Karen) and Kristen (Rob) Tanner, as well as many other family and friends who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrel and Carolyn Gubler, his brother-in-law Mike Borden, and an infant daughter.

Visitation will be Friday, August 7th, from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff St, St. George, UT 84770. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 8th. In accordance with Brent’s wishes, he was cremated and interment will take place at the Blake Family Cemetery on Kolob Mountain.
