Our husband, dad, grandfather, and friend left this earth on December 17, 2022, peacefully at home. Brent was born on November 4, 1940, in Salt Lake City to Dale and Lucille Nelson. Brother to Cathy Austin, Kristy (Jim) Woodard, Connie Nelson, and Karen Standing. Brent spent time growing up in Twin Falls, Idaho; Sandy, Murray, and Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from East High School and went on to serve a mission to Norway.

Brent worked various jobs, started a young family and went back to school to become a nurse. He loved working in the O.R. at Primary Children's Hospital taking care of children. He also served in the Utah National Guard during this time. He served his country during Desert Storm.

Brent served his neighborhood by being Scout Master to Troop 234. He loved the boys and taking them on adventures all over the states of Utah and Idaho.

Brent loved to travel; he and Sue went all over the United States on many adventures. He and Sue both also found joy in serving in the Salt Lake Inner City Mission and the Utah State Prison Mission.

He is survived by his wife "Lady" Sue, children Kari (Rainier) Pioquinto, Jacob (Katie) Nelson, Beth (Ira) Burton, Benjamin (McKenzie) Nelson, and grandchildren Mae, Huckleberry, Kennedy, Macy, Jonah, Lola, and Ruby.

Brent is preceded in death by his parents Dale and Lucille Nelson and his sister Kristy Woodard.

Brent will be remembered for his love of family, travel, music and roses.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, at 10:00 AM at the Mountain View 3rd Ward, 1889 South 1700 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84108. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N St E, Salt Lake City, UT 84103.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Primary Children's Hospital.

Brent will surely be missed. He was instrumental for MV3 ward and troop 234 in keeping us from doing something overly stupid, and for providing a wonderful well of early memories to draw from.
