Dale Lunt, age 81, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, in Ephraim, Utah, surrounded by many of the people he loved most.
As a young man, Dale proudly served in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he built a long and dedicated career at Geneva Steel, where he eventually retired. He attended Rutland High School and carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and family with him throughout his life.
Dale will be remembered for his contagious laugh, his warm spirit, and his ability to make everyone around him feel welcome and loved. Family meant everything to him. He treasured time spent with those closest to him and shared a particularly special bond with two of his great-grandchildren, Tyler (Bubba T) and Caislyn.
He leaves behind his five children: Curtis (Sheila) Hunsaker of Wyoming; Marci Lunt (Steven Foster), Mandi Lunt, Angie Lunt, and Darren Lunt, all of Utah — all of whom are forever grateful to have shared this life with him. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters: Darrell Lunt of Arizona; Dennis Lunt of Nevada; Barbara (Dave) Croisant, Norma Harmelink, Celia (Howie) Gerry, Gail (Jim) Miller, and Peggy Whitney, all of South Dakota; Marsha Labs of Nebraska; and Vicki (Randy) Grooters of Iowa. Dale is further remembered by his 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Lunt; his mother, Verneil Millman; his father, Harry Lunt; his brother, Doug Lunt; his grandson, Randy D. Lunt; and his grandparents, Alvin and Nadine Lunden, Annette Lunden, and Hugh and Dagmar Lunt.
Dale’s life was defined by service, laughter, and deep love for his family. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life for Dale will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 1:00 p.m. at Canyon Glen Park in Provo Canyon, Utah.
