Connie Kener

Mar 5, 1935 Apr 29, 2025

Connie Lyon Kener, 90, Family Matriarch and avid football fan.

Connie Lyon Kener, our feisty, generous and quick witted mother, passed away April 29, 2025, at age 90 in Draper, Utah, after a brave fight with dementia. Born March 5, 1935 in Kaysville, Utah. Connie lived with passion, generosity, and a no nonsense attitude. She loved to travel and was always staying busy.

Connie loved working at Cottonwood Hospital as an ER nurse, saving lives with skill and care and telling us the craziest stories of what she saw. Her favorite place was her home in Midway, Utah. She nurtured her yard with pride, mowing, pruning, and keeping bugs at bay with her never ending supply of Raid. The grandkids called the yard "Narnia" and strangers stopped by often to admire her yard and home. A loyal BYU fan, Connie enjoyed watching Cougar football games, often recording them to relive the excitement. Her greatest joy, though, was her family, whom she cherished and spoiled immensely.

She leaves behind her three daughters, Carolyn, Sherrie, Christie (Damon), one son and five grandsons that she loved more than anything: Jeremy (Dani), Christian, Brandon, Ryan (Lexi) and Alex and four great grandchildren. Too many relatives preceded her in death to name. As she always said "I'm the last of the Mohicans" but special mention to our dad, Jerry, who passed in 2013, who we think enjoyed the last 12 years of not having our mom telling him how to do things, those who know her know what I mean :)

Family and close friends are invited to attend a Graveside service to be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Midway City Cemetery, 600 W 500 S.

The family is grateful for the care and assistance of Intermountain Homecare and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, plant a tree, or donate to Intermountain Health and Hospice Care at https://giving.classy.org/campaign/590949/donate
