Charles Milton Bowler

Jan 14, 1954 Sep 1, 2026

Charles Milton Bowler, age 72 , passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026 in St. George, Utah. Charlie was born on January 14th, 1954 in Sacramento, California to Elwood Holt Bowler and Lorna Jane Jones Bowler. He married Barbara Cooke on June 1st, 2012 in St. George, Utah.

Charlie enjoyed a carefree childhood in Fallon, Nevada, and later in Cedar City, Gunlock and St. George, UT. He graduated from Dixie High School.

He was one of those rare people who was patient, even tempered, and never judgmental. During his school days, he was often teased and bullied, but he just let those things go and tried to make everyone his friend.

He loved listening to music, especially the Tabernacle Choir. He liked to dance. He liked to cook (Chicken Alfredo and Tuna Casserole were favorites). He loved babies, little children, animals and spending time with family. He also loved to give gifts. His nature was kind and generous. He had such a big heart!

Charlie was employed most of his adult life as a dishwasher. He was rarely without a job, and he worked hard.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Barbara, Colorado City AZ, his mother Lorna Muir Coalville UT, his sister, Dena Simister (James), Coalville UT and adopted brother, Eric Muir, Clearfield UT.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Bowler; his brothers, Randall Bowler (Tanna, deceased), Steven Bowler, Kenneth Bowler, and his sister Lornell Bowler.

A celebration of life will be held at the Leeds Town Park on Saturday, September 19th, 2026, from 11am to 1pm. Please bring your own picnic lunch and memories to share.

We extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and other staff at St. George Regional Hospital, especially the hospice and palliative care staff. You all made a difficult time just a little easier.
