Charles Dale Clark

Jun 14, 1960 Jun 3, 2024

Charlie returned home to his Heavenly Father on June 3, 2024, at the age 63, after a long battle with chronic illness. He was born June 14, 1960, in Tooele, Utah, to Lester and Diane Clark. He loved the farm life that he was born into, having many adventures in the fields of what would later become Stansbury Park. He had many fond memories of “going across the street to Grandma and Grandpa’s” and being at the Mill Pond.

He met Valerie Hope while working at Sunn Classic Pictures and they were later married in 1982. To them, Jacob, Jordan, and Sarah were born. His love for his children was deep and everlasting. Charlie was then introduced to the love of his life Christi McDonald, creating a family with the addition of Jenny and Derek. Charlie and Christi married in 1990 and brought Austin into the world a few years later. They were married for 33 years. Charlie loved his family very much and reminded them during every visit and phone call. His children and grandchildren were the light in his life.

Charlie had a fascination in anything that involved a motor and going fast, including everything from riding his motorcycles, Corvettes, and limousines, to building a sandrail from scratch and working in the garage. He also had a lifelong love of airplanes and flying that he shared with his dad. These interests evolved into a career in the automotive industry, where he became friends with Larry H. Miller, working with him for several years. After that adventure, he became a semi-truck driver, which allowed him to travel across the country, as well as locally, most recently at Kelle’s/Soar Transport where he enjoyed going to work every day for the past 12 years. He was often the life of the party and loved to joke around. In years past, you would always know when Charlie was driving down the road, as the stereo systems and subwoofers in his cars would be distinguishable from miles away. His big bear hugs will be missed greatly.

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife Christi; children Jacob, Jordan, Sarah (Aaron), Jenny (Mike), Derek (Angela), and Austin; siblings Jerry (Michelle), Leslie, Elesa (Allen), Dave (Tristin), and Steve; nine grandchildren Landon, Layla, Rachal, Ellie, Hailey, Braylan, Ryker, Lindsay, and Remmington; best animal friends Dennis and Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Diane.

The family would like to thank Jordan Valley Hospital, Baylee Blackner, and the University of Utah Hospital for their valiant efforts during the end of Charlie’s life.

Funeral services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 South, Sandy, Utah, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 2 p.m., with a public visitation from 1:30-2 p.m. Per Charlie’s wishes, service will have a closed-casket.
