Cecilia “CC” Ruby Chavez, 37 years old of Magna, Utah, was taken from her job as an earth side angel to be a heavenly angel on Friday, August 28, 2020.
CC was born on April 7, 1983 to Diane Sanchez and Anthony Chavez. She grew up to be an incredible woman with a beautiful smile and a heart of gold. CC lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed taking care of others. She had just begun her career at American Red Cross.
She was the brightest of lights and to know her was to love her. Although she was tiny, she was larger than life.
She is survived by her mother, Diane Gonzales; her father, Anthony (Renee) Chavez; step-dad, Rudy Gonzales; daughter, Jada Chavez; sister, Christina (Adnan) Pandur; brothers: Michael (Tawsha) Trujillo and Anthony (Marisol) Chavez; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. She also had 11 nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy. A viewing will be held two hours prior to funeral services. A celebration of life luncheon will be held after services at 3847 S Bridgton Circle, Magna, Utah. Services will also be Live-Streamed via Zoom.

Beautiful inside and out. Back in high school I always remember her smiling or laughing. She truly was a kind soul. Gone way to soon RIP , My thoughts and prayers goes out to her family.

When I think of her, there is not a single person that comes to mind that did not love her. I met CC in 3rd grade. She was one of the first friends I made when I moved to WV and attended Carl Sandburg. People gravitated to Cecila. She is so kind, loving and man, she was super fun to be around. She always made me laugh and would always be the friend who didn't care what was cool or what people thought, she always stood up for others and was never the type to entertain stupid gossip or drama. She truly loved the human race and the world loved her back. I never heard her talk ill of anyone ever. She was beautiful inside and out and I feel privileged to have known her and the example of non-judgmental kindness and selfless love she always gave to others.
We would always joke even up to a few months ago about how when I was in 4th grade, I sat down with her at recess as she made grass nests. We had small chat until she saw my Tom boy legs and said: "WHOA, GIRL.." I said: "What is it?" She ran her finger on my scrawny leg as she says: " Your legs are so hairy!" Lol dhe had to pieces of grass in her fingers of both hands as she smiles and says: "Your like a mammoth haha!" We both laughed. Growing up in a family with 5 brothers my mama may have unintentionally skipped that step or was waiting till I was older. CC was looking out for me haha. That girl taught me to shave and good thing she did. Can you imagine if I hit 7th grade and still had those hairy legs? Haha She was so funny. Before we were mothers we had a big night out on the fun bus to park city and though I don't remember a thing about that night, I remember her smile and waking up in a beanbag snuggled next to her like 2 birds in a nest. She smiled back at me as she said: "Good morning sunshine" as her arms squeezed around me for a hug. She was the best. Always so much Iove to give and it was always genuine and real. God bless your family and I will miss you until I see you again my friend.

CC was magical. She was so full of light and joy. She loved her family fiercely and spoke of you every day. There was never a dull moment with her. Her presence is deeply missed, and she will always be remembered as part of our American Red Cross team. It’s rare to form a genuine connection with someone so quickly, but her authenticity was magnetic. I’m thinking of her family and friends. I wish you all peace and healing. Thank you for sharing her with me.
I am extremely lucky to have grown up with CeCe. We went to school together for 6 years and she was always so great!! I am truly sad that she was taken from your family so quickly. Remember the good times she brought to everyone and the smile that could light up the darkness. My condolences. RIP CeCe

Cecilia was full of life, she was so bubbly and full of joy, love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, she was an Angel sent by God. When we met Cecilia we fell in love with her and the wonderful Spirit she had! She was a beautiful girl, so full of life and she will be remembered by many, and I am positive she touched many, many lives. We give our condolences to her family and will keep all in prayer.

A very tiny special woman with a big loving heart, which I was blessed n knowing her n Jada n family. She always brought a smile to very person she met, alway ready to help out or someone. I didn’t get to see her for her grandma PETA’s funeral, cause she out doing stuff for the family, but I text her telling her how much I missed not seeing her n Jada, she just said yea prima next time. I will miss this beautiful young lady RIP Cecelia u will be missed so very much
