Caryn Joan Lee Martin Nadeau, our dear sweet mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 31, 2024, of stomach cancer.

She was born on August 28, 1946, along with her twin sister, Carolyn (Linnie) Hadley, to Edna Rae Bennett Lee and Thomas Earl Lee. She graduated from Weber High School in 1964 and then graduated from Weber State College to become a secretary. She was a secretary at Hill Air Force Base and that's where she met Glynn Martin. They were married on Feb. 23, 1968 in Logan, Utah. They were married for 32 years and later divorced. Caryn loved her family and enjoyed staying at home with their four children. In 1986 she went back to work as a secretary for the Granite School district and worked there for 30+ years.

Caryn loved to go dancing and get dressed-up. She square danced and ballroom danced and did the west coast swing at the Westerner and the Murray Arts Center. That's where she met her husband, friend, and loving caregiver, David Paul Nadeau. They loved to dance together. They were married on Oct. 11, 2014, in Murray, Utah and were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. They loved to garden and travel together. She went to Germany, Japan, Mexico, Peru, and many states in the US. She and Dave also loved spending time with their grandchildren.

She loved to read and write. Little known to others, she was a poet. She loved writing letters and poems to her children and family. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has held numerous callings. Her favorite being her last calling as a nursery leader.

Surviving are her children, Lisa Rae (Troy) Shoop, Timothy Glynn (Jim) Martin , Bradley Thomas (Megan) Martin, Kevin Lee (Katara) Martin, and 9 grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and three sisters, Tommy Lee, Nancy (Fred) Collier, Sherry McEwen and Susan (Dan) Hadley. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and two sisters, her twin Carolyn (Linnie) Hadley, and Linda Margaret Lee.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road in Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:30 am with a viewing beforehand at 9:30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5555 S. 700 W., Murray, Utah. Graveside services will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 "N" Street, Salt Lake City, Utah and afterwards a luncheon will be held back at the church.
