Carolyn B Roberts

Jul 16, 1943 Dec 27, 2023

In loving memory of Carolyn B. Kelsch Roberts, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, in Murray, Utah, at the age of 80. Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, second mom, and friend. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.

Carolyn came into the world on July 16, 1943, to Louis Alma Kelsch and Susannah Marriott Barlow, both of whom preceded her in death. She found love with Roland Eugene Roberts, and they were married on September 2, 1961, in Memory Grove, Salt Lake City, Utah. Their union was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 17, 1963. Together, Roland and Carolyn were blessed with five children, 17 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Surrounded by unconditional love and support, Carolyn's upbringing was filled with warmth and care. She cherished her place in a large family and dreamed of having one of her own someday. Throughout her life, she held dear the memories of her childhood: playing outdoor games with her siblings on the farm, singing alongside her sisters, and participating in the high school production of West Side Story.

While working at the Frost Top, she met and instantly fell in love with her soulmate and future husband, Roland. Through their 62 years of marriage, they lovingly raised their children. Supporting them in sports, dance, school activities, and Scouts. The value of family was evident, through countless vacations. Precious moments were captured with countless photographs and stories. She found joy in all she did. Camping under the stars, exploring new destinations with her family, studying the gospel, and attending the temple.

Known for her warm smile and compassionate heart, Carolyn possessed a beautiful soul filled with love and acceptance for all. Her inclusive nature made everyone she met feel valued and cherished. Carolyn held a deep love and respect for her country and community, actively engaging in service roles such as Girl Scout Leader, PTA President, Young Women Leader, Girls Camp Director, Merit Badge Counselor, teaching values, survival skills, and basic first aid, as well as, volunteering for LDS Social Services. Carolyn worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around her, and even in spirit continues to make a positive impact on her community. Professionally, Carolyn formed lasting connections and friendships while working at Graybar Electric, Dr. Pack’s Dental Office, JC Penney, and the Community Health Center.

Our beloved angel has now found freedom from pain, embraced by a world of peace and joy. She is survived by her loving and eternal companion, Roland Eugene Roberts, as well as her adult children and their spouses: Sheryl Shields (Roger), Roland Roberts Jr. (Wendy), Keri Hanzelka (Todd), Andrea Singleton (Marc), and Alan Roberts (Melissa). Carolyn also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and their spouses, including Shirlee Hollingsworth (Tom, deceased), Glen Kelsch (Sherrie), and Randee Kelsch. Her family further extends to include many other sisters, brothers and a wide circle of cherished cousins, aunts, uncles, neices and nephews.. Carolyn joins her siblings, Joyce Butchereit (John), Jerry Kelsch, Donald Kelsch, Sharon Strebel (Charlie), and Beverly Doman (Mark) who preceded her in death.
