Carol Kofoed Glad passed away peacefully on December 17, 2021, at the age of 95. Carol was born on July 8, 1926, in Preston, Idaho to Eugene and Lillie Kofoed. She married Gordon Redford Glad on February 14, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 19, 1983.

Carol’s favorite flowers were roses, she had a garden with more than 22 rosebushes at the house that she lived in for 58 years on Park Meadows St. in Salt Lake City. She was a very talented China painter and painted many figurines, plates, and other items. She painted a lamp that won first place at the Salt Lake County Fair. She also loved to knit and crochet. She crocheted many stuffed animals and other items for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a remarkable seamstress and made many of the clothes for her daughters when they were young. She was able to combine dress patterns to make the exact dresses that they wanted. Quilting was also a passion of hers and she made many blankets for her grandchildren.

Carol was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had many callings throughout her life including Relief Society President, counselor, primary presidency member, teacher, and many other callings. Her favorite calling was with the Waterford School using computers to teach young children reading, colors, and numbers. Her favorite memory was when she was having trouble with a computer (she did not always get along well with computers) and a three-and-a-half-year-old student came over and showed her how to do it.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Linda (Paul) Hiskey, and Sheree (Steve) Workman, brother-in-law Bob (Laura) Glad, sisters-in-law Martha (John) Heath, Joann Gardine, sisters Gloria Callister, and Valene Howell, 9 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
