Cameron Jay Potter

Dec 22, 1988 May 7, 2024

The party started on December 22, 1988, when Cameron Jay Potter was born in Gunnison, Utah. Cameron grew up skateboarding, playing video games (in which he was the master of cheat codes), and making mischief with his brother and sister. Every day of his life, Cam’s humor—especially the dark kind—was unmissable. In person, everyone around him (literally everyone, like it or not) was surrounded with jokes, accents, pranks, impersonations, parodies, and so many laughs. Things were no different online where he was a connoisseur of memes (the edgier the better). He was a people person in every sense of the word and loved his family and friends with all his frenzied heart. That wild love also extended to animals of all kinds as a child and as an adult, most recently including his precious cats. A true creative soul, Cameron got a huge kick out of making his own art. His own body itself was frequently a canvas with hair that was more often than not a loud and bold new color, a collection of numerous gauges and piercings, and his lifelong obsession for eccentric hats, which of course included his infamous top hat. Cameron was not Cameron without his music… Nirvana, Tool, System of a Down, Korn, Rob Zombie, The Offspring, Black Sabbath… and the list goes on and on. When he wasn’t listening to music, he loved playing it—both his favorite songs as well as his own original music on his instrument of choice: the guitar. Cam’s creativity and curiosity had him consistently tinkering with all things mechanical and electronic… from taking apart and reconstructing a VCR to making a clock in woodshop class all the way to perfecting his homemade taser. Like said taser, Cam was electric. He lived with passion and felt every feeling at full volume. Unfortunately, on May 7, 2024, Cameron—a son, a brother, and friend to many—exited stage left and moved on to an even bigger venue to rock out with some of the greats. He will be greatly missed and loved by all.

Please no flowers. Consider donating to a charity of your choice in Cameron's name. Thank you.
