Calley Jean Nagel was born on November 5th, 1997 to Holly and James D Nagel. From the moment she entered the world, with her bouncy blonde curls and smiling eyes, you felt your heart brighten.

Calley had so much affection for her family and never shied away from expressing it. She was very close to her aunts, Chari and Lisa. She loved her Grandpa, Don, and looked forward to his turkey gravy at every holiday family meal. Calley had a deep and special bond with her grandmother, Pamela. Even as an adult, she would sit on Pam’s lap, hug her, and say, “you’re my heart, Grandma.” While she had an amazing zest for life and had dreams of traveling and seeing the world, she was happiest at home with her dad, brother, and grandparents.

Calley grew up with her older brother, Alec Nagel. They attended Cypress high school together, shared many of the same friends, and were always there for one another. She loved her mother, Holly, deeply and they adored doing their hair, makeup, and nails together. Calley idolized and cherished her father, Jim. A daddy’s girl, through and through, she often spent her evenings by the side of a car handing him tools and talking about life.

Calley had immense love for all animals. A fierce protector of all those who couldn't protect themselves, she worked in various animal hospitals taking care of and loving the sick and injured. She was drawn to their innocent souls and always happy to do the dirtiest, hardest, and most important tasks to make sure they were comfortable.

With a soul too bright, and a heart too warm, Calley spread much of the love that is needed in this world. We will miss her every day.
