Brittany Sommers Long, age 39, of Highland, Utah, passed away on February 29, 2024, after a long, courageous battle with Leukemia. She was surrounded by her loving husband and children as she returned home to her Heavenly Father.
Brittany was born in Rexburg, Idaho, on July 4, 1984, to David and Cheryl Sommers. She was raised in Smyrna, Tennessee. She attended BYU-Idaho where she graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. It was there she met the love of her life and Eternal Companion, Cameron Long. They were married on August 20, 2005, in the Nashville, Tennessee temple.
Brittany was truly a one-of-a-kind friend, sister, daughter, and most importantly, mother and spouse. She loved fiercely and with all her heart. She brightened up any room with her love, humor, and, of course, her dance moves. Brittany knew no stranger and befriended all. She had a great talent for making everyone feel so incredibly special.
Brittany is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Cheryl Sommers. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Cameron Long, and her 4 children, Caden (15), Connor (14), Maddox (11), and Lacey (8); parents, David Sommers and Bonus Mom, Michelle Skousen; siblings, Bonny Day (Chad), Dallas Sommers, Spencer Sommers, Seren Alvarez (Alex), Camilla Seaman (Scott), Legrand Sommers, Hunter Sommers, Hannah Sommers, Leah Sommers, and many other family and friends.
Her family used the following words to describe Brittany: radiant, fun-loving, joyful, gracious, friendly, nurturing, forgiving, faithful, Christ-like, accepting, spunky, determined, loyal, generous, benevolent, steadfast, quirky, FOMO, beautiful, and amazing.
