Beverly Crossley Averett, 71 years old of New Harmony Utah peacefully passed away on September 07, 2022 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Our beloved mother was born in April of 1951 in Salt Lake City Utah. She was the third of six children whose parents were Darrel Young Crossley and Edith Thompson Crossley of Salt Lake City Utah.

Beverly met the love of her life and husband of 52 years when she was introduced to him by her older brother Richard. Richard returned home from his mission and introduced her to one of his old missionary companions, the love of her life, Keith Bowden Averett. Keith and Beverly were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple on October 9th, 1970. Keith and Beverly raised their 6 children in California, and then upon retirement they moved to New Harmony in 2004 where they have enjoyed the past 18 years together.

Beverly and Keith served three summers as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ in 2016, 2017, 2018 at Heber Valley Girls Camp. Beverly greatly enjoyed serving and helping the young women in the camp and she made many strong friendships there with the other senior missionaries she served with.

Beverly is survived by her husband; Keith Bowden Averett. Her 6 children; Chad (Stacy) Averett, Shawn (Yvonne) Averett, Kammie (Glenn) Jackson, Quinn (Jolene) Averett, Jodi Walker, and Kyle (Rachel) Averett, her 25 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her older sister Ilene Crossley, and her younger brothers Paul Crossley and Kevin Crossley.

Beverly was preceded in death by two of her brothers; Richard Crossley and Gary Crossley.

Beverly was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a dedicated servant to her Savior all her life. She served in many callings in the church. Some of her favorite hobbies besides spending time with her children and grandchildren were reading, crocheting, playing piano, and cooking.

Any of Beverly’s close friends and family would immediately describe her as incredibly compassionate, full of love for everyone, modest and a great cook.

Beverly’s funeral services will be held on 9/10/22 at the LDS chapel located at 12 N Main St, New Harmony, UT. A viewing will be held from 12:00 - 1:30 PM with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will be immediately following the funeral service at the New Harmony Town Cemetery. The funeral service will also be webcasted through zoom at the following address; Meeting ID: 963 887 7797, Passcode: Harmony

To Beverly and Kieth and your family, I will always remember your many kindnesses to my family, and especially to Jenny, when we all lived in Mendocino County. I think you as a couple and as a family probably have served and loved and ministered to many other wounded souls and families as well in your journeys through life. Thank you for what you did for us. Beverly was and is a gentle, beautiful lady. A great example to all. With love, Carol Black

Beverly and Ilene were always close by when I lived with their family while attending LDS Business College. They were such cute little girls and always pleasant to be with. I am glad she was able to join her family on the other side as she had completed her work here on earth.
