Apr 24, 1951 Sep 7, 2022

Beverly Crossley Averett, 71 years old of New Harmony Utah peacefully passed away on September 07, 2022 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Our beloved mother was born in April of 1951 in Salt Lake City Utah. She was the third of six children whose parents were Darrel Young Crossley and Edith Thompson Crossley of Salt Lake City Utah.

Beverly met the love of her life and husband of 52 years when she was introduced to him by her older brother Richard. Richard returned home from his mission and introduced her to one of his old missionary companions, the love of her life, Keith Bowden Averett. Keith and Beverly were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple on October 9th, 1970. Keith and Beverly raised their 6 children in California, and then upon retirement they moved to New Harmony in 2004 where they have enjoyed the past 18 years together.

Beverly and Keith served three summers as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ in 2016, 2017, 2018 at Heber Valley Girls Camp. Beverly greatly enjoyed serving and helping the young women in the camp and she made many strong friendships there with the other senior missionaries she served with.

Beverly is survived by her husband; Keith Bowden Averett. Her 6 children; Chad (Stacy) Averett, Shawn (Yvonne) Averett, Kammie (Glenn) Jackson, Quinn (Jolene) Averett, Jodi Walker, and Kyle (Rachel) Averett, her 25 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her older sister Ilene Crossley, and her younger brothers Paul Crossley and Kevin Crossley.

Beverly was preceded in death by two of her brothers; Richard Crossley and Gary Crossley.

Beverly was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a dedicated servant to her Savior all her life. She served in many callings in the church. Some of her favorite hobbies besides spending time with her children and grandchildren were reading, crocheting, playing piano, and cooking.

Any of Beverly’s close friends and family would immediately describe her as incredibly compassionate, full of love for everyone, modest and a great cook.
