Our beloved Mother and Friend, Bertha Rose Newbold Stott, passed away on November 6, 2021, at the age of 92, at home in South Jordan, Utah. She was an “Idaho Girl”, for she was born and raised in LaBelle, Idaho, the daughter of Andrew Newbold and Emma Matilda Lundquist Newbold. She was born May 29, 1929.

Rose met and flirted with the man of her dreams, Paul Max Stott, while she was working at Bill and Nada’s Café. She became his eternal companion in the Salt Lake Temple on December 1, 1947. This started a union that lasted 65 mortal years before Paul passed away in 2013 and will last through eternity.

Rose was a fantastic mother and was involved with her children. She was a PTA President and Primary President (her favorite). Rose made sure there was fun in her children’s lives. She would have races with them and read to them at night.

Being a wonderful companion to Paul, she worked side by side with him in their Service Station business. She and the family did whatever they could to help in the business. By Rose and Paul’s example their children learned the value of work.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ. She served in many church callings, among her favorites were Primary President, being a Relief Society teacher and later a Greeter.

She was a friend to everyone she met and had many friends that kept contact with her through the years no matter where she was.

One of Rose and Paul’s favorite places they lived was the Police Target Range and Clubhouse in Parleys Canyon. For ten wonderful years they were the Managers. Rose called it her “Heaven on Earth”.

Rose is survived by her children; Larry (Carol) Stott, Mary (Jeff) Bernard, and Gayle (Dale) Hampton; 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters, Lillie and Wilma.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the same location prior to services from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
