Benny Matthew Martinez

Benny Matthew Martinez, age 55, passed away in his sleep on January 10, 2021 after a battle with pneumonia. We pray he passed peacefully while he slept. He was born on January 18, 1965 to Benny and Bertha Martinez in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Benny Jr. was gracious and sweet, patient and kind, and a hero in our hearts. His passing was sudden and unexpected. We are forever heartbroken. He will be immensely missed. We find comfort in knowing he has joined his mother. He is survived by his father Benny Martinez Sr., sister Yvonne Martinez, dear uncles and aunts, dear cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Bertha Martinez, grandparents Jose and Otelina Martinez, Edward and Sophie Montoya; uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, January 22nd, 2021 from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at Affordable Funerals and Cremations, 4387 South 500 West, Murray, UT, 84123. Graveside services will then follow at 2:00 PM at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT 84120.

In compliance with Governor Herbert's mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all services. Social distancing will be enforced.
