She then met and married the love of her life Cecil Duane Wood. He received his draft calling to Korea and they were married October 27, 1950. They were later sealed in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Together they welcomed four children. they enjoyed many loving years together until Cecil's untimely death in 1977. She later settled in Kearns, Utah. Barbara loved serving and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She took pride in all of the callings she received. Some of those callings included Relief Society President, Primary President, Girls camp counselor, she was also a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple and taught temple preparation classes. She was also called to serve a mission in Independence, Missouri. She loved visiting teaching. Barbara loved to help people; she had a heart of gold. as well as had a wonderful sense of humor. She decided many years ago she was NOT going to be a "cross and cranky old lady" and she never was. She always had a positive and upbeat attitude. She found so much joy in helping others, whether it was taking meals to those in need or feeding a hungry cat that made its way to her porch. She treasured every visit she received and was sure to welcome you with a smile and a hug.

Barbara was very grateful for opportunity to come to earth and spread her love wherever she could. She loved her life and the people in it. Most of all she loved her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as well as her family. She will be missed beyond measure.
