Barbara Hoffman Poynor

Barbara Hoffman Poynor 88, wife, mother, daughter, sibling, and friend to all who met her, passed away November 16, 2021, due to age.

Barbara married the love of her life on September 30, 1949, and was later sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City temple.

Barbara served many callings for her church both in Bennion and Grantsville, Utah. She along with her husband Vern served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Manchester, New Hampshire, making long-lasting friends along the way.

Barbara after raising her family went on to a career in Real Estate for Century 21 which she excelled at. She loved every aspect of her job, from the listing to the closing. She loved helping families find their homes.

Barbara loved life, her family and friends meant everything to her. If it was just visiting or playing games (which she didn’t like to lose) or sitting quietly in their presence she was happy.

Barbara suffered with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 53 years. She never let it slow her down. Although she was always in pain she never complained. She chose to be happy.

Barbara was so loved by her husband, family, and friends. She will be missed.

She is survived by Michael Poynor (Son) and daughters Christine North (Dave deceased); Shauna Walters (John deceased); Sheri Johnson (Mike); Tonya Holder (Marlin); her 18 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. And brothers Jim Hoffman (Karen); Wally Hoffman (Rose).

She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Poynor.

We know the reunion with our Dad was great. We picture them “Dancing in Heaven!”

A funeral service will be held on Saturday 11/20/21 at 12:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 428 South Hale Street, Grantsville, Utah 84029. A viewing will be held from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM on the same day at the same location. Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Cemetery on Monday 11/22/21.
