Awleen Cheryl Keller passed away peacefully, the evening of November 29th, surrounded by children and loving caregivers at Sunrise.
Awleen was born December 6, 1935, to Oliver and Leone Wilkes and grew up in Salt Lake City. She attended South High School. She enjoyed raising two children and her fruitful and rewarding career with Blue Cross Blue Shield where she touched hundreds of lives in a positive manner. She held several positions during her tenure resulting in being promoted to Account Executive.
She dedicated her life to serving others and she enjoyed her countless friends who she remained in contact with throughout the years.
Awleen was married to Ferris Keller of Keller Construction for 33 wonderful years before he left this earth due to complications of Alzheimer’s. She loved him dearly and missed him every day. Together they traveled to many places, played tennis, adored their dogs, and enjoyed fine wines from various regions. They built their dream house in Salt Lake City which was featured in two magazines, and a winter home in Las Vegas which they both enjoyed.
Awleen was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and enjoyed everyone she encountered. She will be truly missed, and always cherished.
Thank you for the life lessons and very fond memories. Your spirit and determination have and will be an inspiration to us all. We love you.
Awleen was preceded in death by husband Ferris Keller, mother and father Oliver & Leone Wilkes, sisters Lois (Fred) Seybolt and Dareth (Joe) Perschon.
The surviving family includes children Cheryl (Tad) Dowell, Brad Willey (Nancy), stepchildren Clay (Kelly) Keller, Jeff (Michelle) Keller, Chris Keller, Michelle (Shad) Vider and Nicole Keller, 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Awleen’s life will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00pm March 22, 2024, at The Chateau at The Rose Shop, 1910 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT.
