Arthur “Art” Frazier McCulley, 66, of Magna, Utah, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2026, at home, of an apparent stroke. He was born April 16, 1960, in Provo, Utah, to Jessie Lewis McCulley and Aase Berit Steen Andersen McCulley.

He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended Lowell School, Hawthorne Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and graduated from South High School.

In his youth, he enjoyed reading Star Trek books, and often quoted Mr. Spock. He continued to love space and space-related things throughout his life. As a teenager, he took apart radios (sometimes belonging to siblings) and other electronics, trying to figure out how they worked. After graduating from South High School, he attended Utah Technical College, majoring in electronics, but never finished his degree.

During his teen years, Art was taken in by Bill and Hazel Garner, who provided him with love and a place to live. Their sacrifice made it possible for him to achieve the things he did in those years. They continued to support him in many ways throughout his life.

Art worked at various jobs, starting with the proverbial paper route, moving on to pizza delivery, yard work, and construction. In his later years, he worked various odd jobs, including in technical support and as a car parts store clerk.

Starting in his early teens, Art was plagued by intense anxiety. In his twenties, he was finally diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder and agoraphobia, among other things. His condition was debilitating and was a drain on him and those around him throughout his life. In the last part of his life he was trying to stop smoking, but never managed it. Perhaps it was a way to self-medicate.

Art leaves a loving girlfriend, Danielle Campbell, Salt Lake City, Utah.

He is also survived by his siblings, Mari (Nelson) Miles, Lehi, Utah; Tom (Shawna) McCulley, Salt Lake City, Utah; Richard McCulley, West Jordan, Utah; Paul McCulley, Magna, Utah; brother-in-law, Dirk Parker, Kearns, Utah; stepbrother, Shawn Walling, West Valley, Utah; and 17 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Karin Parker; his step parents, Kenneth Taylor and Dorothy Cook McCulley; and stepsister, Colleen Walling Evenson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Spencer 4th Ward building, 8181 Breeze Drive, Magna, Utah, with a viewing before the service from 10:00-10:45 a.m.

Interment at Valley View Memorial Park, 4391 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
