Anselmo "Papa Bear" Salaz, 81, passed away on October 22, 2021. He struggled with Parkinson's disease. Born July 6, 1940 to Jose and Roselina Salaz in San Antonio, Colorado. In 1958 he married Darlene Martinez. He has only worked 3 jobs all his life: RC Ellets, Summer Hayes, and Kennocott Copper and he retired. Dad was a workaholic. He loved fishing and watching westerns like John Wayne.
He is survived by his daughter Dana Salaz, 4 grandchildren Rudy Jr, Anthony, Jennifer Velasquez and Andrea Salaz. He has 2 great grandchildren Mackalino Salaz and Aryu Velasquez and his little sister Vera Ybberra.
Preceded in death by both parents, his sons Wayne and Mike Salaz, his wife Darlene and brother Frank Salaz and sister Ester Gallegos.
You will be truly missed, and we love you so much. It's never goodbye but see you later.
There will be a viewing at the Larkin Mortuary located at 260 E South Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah 84111 on 11/01/2021 From 6:30-8:00 PM Rosary will take place from 8:00-9:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be on 11/02/2021 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1058 West 400 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84104.
