Annette Robison Berhold (87) left this mortal sphere on Wednesday January 31, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Gilbert Hans Berhold, in their 70th year of marriage. Born on April 3, 1936, in Salt Lake City. Annette is the daughter of Bayard Nelson Robison and Katherine Clarissa Hatch Robison. She grew up in the East Millcreek area of Salt Lake City, Utah and was a member of the first graduating class from Olympus High School.
Annette is survived by her dear husband Gilbert and her posterity of 10 children (including spouses): Mark (Stella), Matthew (Karla), Mindy (Richard) Matheson, Marcie (David) Lake, Misa (Jason) Anderson, 50 grandchildren (including spouses) and 79 great grandchildren, all of whom lovingly call her “Granny”.
Annette blessed many people with her engaging smile, buoyant spirit, and extraordinary friendliness. Numerous strangers have stopped her on the street asking, “Don’t I know you?” She loved children and youth. She led a group of cub scouts and organized a harmonica band with them among other things that endeared her to them. She volunteered in PTA groups and with the Bonnet Ball softball league. She served on the Brighton Girls Camp committee, as a member of the Brighton Ski Patrol and as a consistent Red Cross volunteer. Annette faithfully served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including service in the Salt Lake Temple. Annette was the beloved office secretary when she and Gil served as missionaries in the Utah, Salt Lake City Mission under the leadership of Richard Hinckley.
Annette lived to serve others - her church, her community and most of all her husband and three generations of children. Granny’s family was her life and she loved traveling all over the United States to visit them and be part of important events, always front and center cheering them on. Annette will be missed by innumerable people who regarded her as a bright shining star in their lives. Friends and family will remember with fondness her infectious laugh, warm hugs, elaborate cooking, knitting, toll painting and jolly greetings. “Hello Sweetness!” and “Come sit, darlin’, and let me fix you a plate,” will always ring in their memories. She journeyed through life with love, loyalty, and generosity, and finished her course revered by all who knew her.
