Andrée Hasoppe George, age 93, passed away peacefully at her home on June 16, 2022. The second child of Joseph Lambert Hasoppe and Lea Poleur. Andree was born on April 16, 1929 in Seraing, Belgium. She lived in Belgium through World War II and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with her father. While in Belgium she was given a very special birthday gift, sharing her birthday with her niece Arlette. At age 19 Andrée moved to Utah to attend BYU; her family followed. She attended BYU and later the University of Utah graduating with a Bachelors in Teaching and followed later with her Masters Degree.

Andrée met, “MY” Keith, and the love of her life. They married and enjoyed 36 years together. They enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling throughout the Country, taking pride in knowing they had traveled and enjoyed almost every State.

Andrée loved teaching. She taught French, Spanish, and English at the U of U, Murray High, and taught over 20 Years at Whittier Elementary as a 1st grade teacher. She taught many children that she loved as her own, including the Garske children. This is where she gained her lifelong Friend, Kay Garske, who was with her until the end.

She loved taking her nieces and nephew to The Homestead and the Zoo and spending time with family supporting them in all they were involved in. Although Keith and Andrée had no children of their own, they became second parents to her niece Stacy Kelley and Shan and Eric Lassig. They would go on family camping trips to Flaming Gorge, the ballet, including the nutcracker and fine arts. Grandma Andrée loved dining with her children and Grandchildren at Olive Garden and Cowboy Grub. She loved visiting Eric Affeldt and his family spending time with them wherever they were living.

Andrée loved sharing and spending time in her beautiful yard and garden. She served as a primary teacher for many years for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She knitted over 10,000 baby booties for the church’s humanitarian projects until the last few months. She loved the Church and her Savior.

Andrée was well known for her fine etiquette and enjoyed fine dining and teaching etiquette to all. She was known by her sweet French accent and loved by all those who knew her. She will be truly missed.

Andrée was preceded in death by her Sweetheart Keith, parents, her sister Denise, brother Manny and his wife Carolyn, and nephew Todd Hasoppe.
