Amy Amanda Richards Marsing passed away at age 49 from a heart attack on November 6, 2022. Amy was the youngest child of Dean and Ann Richards. They both precede Amy in death. She grew up in Pleasant Grove and attended Pleasant Grove High School, where she made many lifelong friends and fun memories. As a teenager, Amy showed Quarter horses; that is where she met and fell in love with her husband Marty Marsing. They later married and have 3 beautiful children, Mason (Jessica) Marsing, Taytum (Cody) Marsing, and Abby (Levi) Clark.

Amy and Marty lived in Woods Cross for many years until they moved to Centerville. Amy was very involved with her family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress, often sewing costumes for her daughter’s dance team. Amy had a long arm quilting machine where she developed an amazing talent of freehand designs on quilts. She owned her own company, Red Rock Quilting, where she shared her talents with hundreds of people.

Amy loved to travel with her family and friends. Traveling from the Northwest territories in Canada, to Mexico, Alaska, Europe, and many of the U.S states. She had just returned from a family cruise that stopped in Italy, Greece and France. Amy loved to go camping with her family and loved going for long rides in the side by side with Marty and the kids. She loved being on the water, and so they spent many summers at Lake Powell. Later on, she developed a love of the ocean, and boating in the San Juan Islands, Seattle, Neah Bay, and Newport Beach.

Amy had a knack for storytelling. Each story was told with so much enthusiasm that she could make you laugh until your sides hurt! Amy was quick with a compliment, a big smile and laugh, and she had a heart of gold. She would do anything for those that she loved, both friends and families. She loved her animals, often taking all the dogs on her many adventures.

There are no words that can explain the heartache and loss that is left in Amy’s passing. She will be missed by many families and friends. A celebration of life will be held for Amy after the holidays.
