Alvin "Abbie" L Thompson Jr.

Alvin "Abbie" L. Thompson Jr. died on Dec 18th 2021, in West Valley City. He was born on Oct 28th 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alvin Leroy Thompson and Stella Lucille Simpson. He married JoAnn Coon on November 28th 1955.

In 1972, he started his drywall business and operated it for 30 years. He loved working in his wood shop, building projects for his family and sometimes selling them. Spending time with family, hunting, camping and fishing were his biggest joys! He was known as "Abbie" by friends and family. He loved bowling and spending time with his pals at the coffee shop everyday he could. Mentoring young bowlers was a big honor for him. He traveled to Alaska & Hawaii several times; visited New York City, enjoyed many Jazz games and even went to Wisconsin for the Green Bay Packer game.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn, sons Larry (LeAnn) Div, Chris (Lisa), and only daughter Brenda (Kelly) Div, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Stella; brothers Bill, Mickey, Lanny and Tommy
