Alma Ross Wilson was born June 3, 1988 in Provo, UT. And with that birth, one of the greatest hearts we know entered the world.
As a young boy, he was anxious to forgive his bullies and give them another shot at friendship.
As he started growing, and he passed up his older sisters at 5’6” and eventually rose to the height of 6’5”, he would often slouch a little around them, so as not to make them feel bad.
As a teenager he was involved in many volunteer projects and really developed the goodness of his heart. And if there was ever a need, you knew that he would give you the shirt off his back. He was generous and kind, and even as a teen, he had a gift for helping others feel seen.
During high school he also invested his heart in his first real sweetheart, Erika Hannah, whom he married in 2007.
His heart expanded with the addition of two sons, Bowen and Henry. Imagine the size of the heart required by him and his wife to adopt a son with intense special needs, at the age of 26.
Henry was born to them 3 years later. And he seemed to find more joy and meaning in the role of being a father than any other in his life. He relished time playing and creating with them. Taking them to sporting events. Making them laugh. And so much more.
A number of years after he and Erika were divorced, he decided to give his heart to Bridget Stephens. Their relationship brought a light and joy into his life that he had been dearly missing.
As a family we’ve been remembering his gifts for gift giving-and how some of those gifts were breathtaking-not in the size or monetary value-but in the depth of love and understanding they clearly showed.
Even in his favorite hobby-fishing-his heart only allowed for catch and release. Killing a fish was just too much.
There are details like graduating from the University of Utah and then Portland State in business, having a successful career, etc. that might be important to some. But it’s his heart that we will always remember him by.
Our hearts won’t be the same without him. He will be missed by many, but especially his family. His sons Henry (8) and Bowen (24). His parents Karl and Debbie Wilson. His siblings Adrienne (Joe) Haws, Hilary Wilson, Andrew (Chelsea) Wilson, Gary (Chelsey) Wilson, and Amanda (Bo) Mortensen. Along with 22 nieces and nephews. And his grandmother Marian Sharp.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the LDS Church located in Oviedo, Florida.
