Alexander John Wilson, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend and inspiration to all who knew him. He has left an indelible mark on our lives. With heavy hearts, we announce his passing on May 28th, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Although he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will continue to resonate within our hearts and minds for always.

Born on May 22nd, 1996 in Boston, Massachusetts, Alex brought excitement and curiosity to everything he was involved in from an early age. Throughout his life, he embraced the role of the world's greatest hugger, touching countless lives with his compassionate heart and open arms. Alex's ability to connect with people from all walks of life was unparalleled, unconditionally loving the individuals he met along his journey.

While it pains us to say goodbye, we recognize the immense strength and courage Alex displayed every day. The emotional challenges he endured throughout the later years of his life served as a reminder of the resilience he possessed, and continue to teach us to remain strong through adversity.

Quiet and introspective, at least until you got him talking about computers or physics, Alex was constantly in search of inner peace and harmony. He embraced solitude, finding solace in the stillness of his own company or with his beloved cats, June and Copper. His pursuit of Zen was a lifelong journey, and he discovered it within the nurturing presence of nature. Among the many passions he cultivated, caring for his cherished plants in his own personal Eden brought him a profound sense of joy and tranquility.

Alex leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and acceptance. His unwavering ability to embrace others with compassion and his infectious warmth will forever be remembered. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he led and the impact he had on our lives.

Though Alex I will allow everyone one stupid belief. After that, I'll tell you what I think. may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. We find solace in knowing that he has found eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty of the gardens he loved so much. May his soul rest in peace, and may his spirit guide and inspire us as we continue on our own paths.

Alex, your light will forever shine within those who knew you. You have touched our lives in ways words cannot express, and we are grateful for the time we had with you.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life on the evening of July 7th, 2023, with additional details to follow. All who knew him are welcome to come and share their stories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you make donations to the Humane Society of Utah, in loving memory of Alex. For the email notice, you can use teamwilson8302@gmail.com.

We miss Alex very much. We may have only been able to see him a few times a year but each time we did we made amazing memories. We'll always remember the times we saw movies such as Avatar and Hobbit, or played games such as trivia crack. We love you Alex, may you rest in peace.

I worked with Alex, he was a very intelligent guy that took pride in his work. He had a good since of humor and was always willing to help out were it was needed. Alex always made sure to help he keep the cleaning room organized and stocked for the next person that would be using it regardless of how he found it. Alex we will all miss your smile and your presence at work. Rest in peace till we meet again.

My husband Rich and I have been fortunate to have known Alex since his birth , as long-time friends of his parents . We spent many happy times together at birthday parties, camping, hiking , and skiing. He was always warm and outgoing , engaging in long well-informed and honest discussions on a wide variety of topics. Alex spoke with us about some of his struggles in life as he attended college and sought to become an independent adult. Many were issues we have all faced at some level growing up, but nowadays are much more common, with more serious consequences. Alex took on this fight to get healthy and fully committed to programs that helped him progress past the majority of these issues. He was so loved by his family, who supported him along this journey. We are heartbroken that all of his own efforts , combined with the best of care, and the love his wonderful family still could not save him. He was a gentle and kind soul ,and will be missed by our entire family. We send our deepest condolences to his family for the shattering loss of their bright and sensitive son, brother, nephew, and grandson. Our hearts go out to all of you ! With love, June and Rich

I've been thinking for a few days now about what I would like to say about Alex and his impact on my life, and what I've decided is that nothing that I can say will ever be enough to show my love and appreciation for him. Alex was a wonderful friend. I was lucky enough to have him as a friend for many years. He played a large part in making me who I am today. He taught me so much about love and acceptance of others. He was fiercely protective and loyal to those he cared about. He was there for me through so much and never made it feel like he wanted something in return, he just made me feel loved and supported. I know that Alex knew a lot of suffering in his life, but what will always stand out to me is his ability to find joy and share it with others, even in the midst of the suffering he experienced. His smile and his laugh are what I will remember most.

One of the smartest people i ever met, kind and generous.

I used to tease him and call him Alexa because he knew everything about everything, he had that ability to explain the most complex things in a very simple way.

He made me discover and have a better understanding on many things, he taught me and helped me a lot in the short time that i knew him.

You'll never be forgotten Alex, we love you.

Rest in paradise

I had the privilege of being Alex’s supervisor for the past 7 months. I am truly saddened at his sudden passing. He was a very special soul, which was readily apparent from the first time I met him. He left an irreplaceable mark upon us all.

He had great attention to detail and love to serve those around him. I remember seeing him clean the coffee containers during his break, which I have never seen anyone take the time to do ever (other than the cleaning service).

He would also notice the smallest things I did and then compliment me on it. It made me feel valued. He had that effect on others.

I enjoyed our interactions and he made work fun and stimulating. He was very sharp and knew a lot about a variety of subjects.

I had the privilege of meeting his father and brother and they were equally impressive. He comes from an outstanding family.

Alex - you will never be forgotten.
