Alena Brown

Feb 1, 1935 Oct 25, 2022

(Florence) Alena Brown suddenly returned to her Heavenly Father on October 25, 2022.

Alena was born on February 1, 1935, to Albert James Hunt and Florence Maude Cooke.

Though the family did not have much money, Alena had a great childhood. She loved playing sports, spending time with her friends, and simply enjoying life. One of her fondest memories was having the responsibility of accompanying her dad and walking the cows down to the pasture for the day. In the evenings, she looked forward to the return trip as it meant spending more time talking with her dad.

On May 23, 1957, Alena married the love of her life, Russell Brown. A year later, on their first anniversary, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. During their life together, they happily created a beautiful family of three daughters. Together they also shared in the heartbreak of having one stillborn son. Alena was utterly devoted to her family as they were everything to her.

On their 40th wedding anniversary, Alena and Russell had the privilege of enjoying a trip to England, where Alena learned more about her heritage. On this trip, she had the fantastic opportunity to meet and spend time with family members and make lifelong friends she held dearly in her heart.

As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Alena enjoyed many different callings, which included teaching children in primary, serving in the relief society, and visiting teaching, to name a few. She had a very strong testimony and a close relationship with her Savior.

Alena is survived by three daughters: Christine Dearing, Lorie Hutchinson, and Karilyn Brown. Among them are her six grandchildren: Jeremy and Jacob Hutchinson, Kaitlen, Keaton, Karyssa, and Karly Dearing. She is also survived by her two loving cats, Lacee and Grasee.

Alena is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Brown; her parents, Albert Hunt and Florence Cooke, three brothers: George, Lawrence, and Melvin Hunt; and one sister, Rebecca Jenson. The Hunt family was finally reunited for eternity after 84 years of being apart.
