Al Schnegelberger passed away peacefully on his 91st birthday, June 4, 2025, in Holladay, Utah. He was born on June 4, 1934, in Hillrose, Colorado.
Al attended school in Colorado before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he played football until an injury ended his military career. He went on to work in the safety industry for several companies before becoming CEO and founding his own business, Safety West Inc. Upon his retirement, Al was honored by the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) for his 58 years of contributions to the field.
Al had many passions, including golfing, fly fishing, traveling, watching sports, and playing cribbage. He will be remembered for his humor, warmth, and love of life.
A memorial service to honor Al’s life will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (8575 S 700 E, Sandy, UT) on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life reception to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Al is survived by his children, Annette Schnegelberger White (Brad), Karl Schnegelberger, Michael Schnegelberger, and Steven Schnegelberger; his grandchildren, Alicia White Baron (Randy) and Albert J. White; his two great-grandchildren; and his nephew, Robert (Robb) Keech.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alicia Ann Woolen Schnegelberger; his parents, Alexander Schnegelberger and Amelia (Millie) Pabst Schnegelberger Reib; and his sister, Mary Schnegelberger Keech.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Prevention of Blindness.
