Obituary for Afton Norah Whitehead, age 5.
Afton unexpectedly passed on June 6, 2022, in West Valley City, Utah. She was born on October 20, 2016, in Murray, Utah, to her adoring parents, Thomas and Vanessa Whitehead. Afton was born at 24 weeks gestation. She has fought every day of her life since then. Blowing past expectations every step of the way. She loved fiercely. Her touch was gentle and she radiated happiness. Anyone who has had the privilege of knowing her or watching her journey online has been changed. Her influence was vast. We are forever grateful to be her parents.
She is survived by Thomas Whitehead, her father; Vanessa Whitehead, her mother; Barry Gregerson (Yvonne), her maternal grandma and grandpa; Jose Morales (Miriyam), her maternal grandma and grandpa; Anita Gardener, her paternal grandma; Rebecca (Kevin) Watkins, her aunt; Tanya Morales, her aunt; Papi Jose Morales, her great grandfather; Daniel Johnson (Michelle), her uncle; Rachal Garcia, her aunt; Brad Whitehead (Andrea), her uncle; Aaron Whitehead, her uncle; Vicky Hiner (Sean), her aunt; Patti Porter (Glen), her aunt; and so many cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Paula Gregerson. Her great grandparents, Arthur and Montess Gregerson; her great grandmother, Regina Morales; and her namesake, great grandmother, Afton Reintjes.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah 84121.

Such a beautiful young soul. I love the way you smiled and were so happy. Your loving personality will be missed so much. Watch over mom and dad, they will need to feel your presence little angel.
Afton was an angel on Earth, sent to remind all of us to love fiercely and unapologetically. She taught all of us to never give up, to be kind to everyone, and to always, ALWAYS look for happiness.
Vanessa and Tom, your unstoppable devotion to Afton has always been an inspiration to me, making me strive to be a better parent. Thank you for always being a hero.
May you find the peace for your heart and your soul.
I may have never had the chance to meet lovely Afton, but I always adored the love I could see was given to her by Vanessa and Tom. I have a special place in my heart for the Gregerson family that I was lucky enough to grow up with.
