Eugene (Gene) Paul Duquette Sr, aged 77, passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City on March 4th surrounded by family and friends after a long and courageous health struggle.

Gene was born in Springfield, MA on November 6th 1946 to Jeanette and Joseph Duquette.

Gene graduated August 1975 from BYU in Provo, UT with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting.

He was a veteran who served in the Air Force, the Navy, and the Arizona Police Force.

Gene had a long and joyful career for over 30 years at Serta Mattress as Vice President.

He was an active member in the LDS church and worked in the Jordan River Temple and the Oquirrh Temple for 23 years.

He is survived by his siblings Beatrice Ellis and her husband Russ, Irene Makuch and her belated spouse Chester, Louise Spedero and her husband Paul, Bob Onishi and his wife Junko, the late David Duquette and his surviving spouse Joan. His 11 total kids; 6 kids from his previous marriage: Tori DiDonato and her husband Antonio, Eugene (Gene) DuQuette Jr and his wife Laura, Joseph DuQuette and his wife Kristina, Lori DuQuette, Kenneth DuQuette and his wife Joan, and Amanda DuQuette-Roberts and her husband Chris. 5 kids from his marriage to his surviving spouse Marie-Denise Duquette: Christel Meyer, Nathanael Meyer and his wife Kari, Deborah Meyer, Mathieu Meyer and his wife Meaghan, and Jolaine Meyer.

He is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Gene will be joining his parents and his brother David in the next life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2447 West 11400 South, South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Eugene will be interred with honors at the Utah Veterans Cemetery; 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
